Because the working environment of the wheel set is very bad, there are also defects in the design, and the management is improper, the service life of the wheel set is short. During the investigation, it was found that the wheel set generally needs to be overhauled after 6 months of downhole use, and the seals and bearings should be replaced. In fact, the working load and running speed borne by the mining car wheel set underground are not high, and the failure form of the mining car wheel set is usually not caused by bearing fatigue damage.
The main failure forms are:
① Seal failure. When the muddy water with acid and alkali components enters the bearing raceway through the clearance of the sealing element, the steel ball is blocked by mud and dust, and becomes stuck and invalid.
② Bearing failure. As the bearing is stuck and does not rotate, the relative rotation between the inner or outer ring of the bearing and the axle or wheel hub will lead to severe wear of the axle and stress concentration. Under the effect of external impact load, the axle will be broken. The severe wear of the inner circle of the wheel hub will lead to the increase of the clearance between the wheel hub and the outer ring of the bearing, which will cause excessive shaking of the wheel and failure.
